The climate information system of the DWD "Klimainformationssystem (KLIS)" provides selected climate data and data products. (Parts of the information is additionally available in English.)

The climate reports "Klimastatusberichte" summarise climate and weather conditions in Germany for the years 1997 - present compared to the 30 year mean 1960-1990. Reports are online available in the archive as PDF, partly as HTML files. (Only in German.)

BSH's Marine Climatology Section provides information on ocean data with emphasis on North sea, Baltic sea and polar sea ice.

This project has started in April 2001 and will continue until May 2002. The main objective of this EUMETNET project can be defined as follows:

"…the distribution of climate data sets on daily amount of precipitation and daily temperature (minimum, mean, maximum) for as many as possible European countries during the period 1901-2000 via CD-ROM and the Internet…firstly, the "EUMETNET" part of the ECA data set will be made accessible while additional climate data, collected within the framework of ECD, will be disseminated in a second phase of this project…"
