CLM data in CERA
How to access CLM data in the CERA data base
The regional climate model data from CLM runs are
- available as times series via the CERA data base at the Model and Data group at MPI.
- distributed in the file format netCDF.
Access to CERA
- Please contact the CERA data base administrator (data(at)dkrz.de) to get your personal password for the access to the webbased data base
How to find the data
We will help you finding your way to the CLM data in the CERA data base. Here are some useful hints:
- go to CERA homepage: http://cera.wdc-climate.de
- start the "CERA user interface"
- you can "browse experiments" and read the meta data without being logged in
- select the keyword "CLM_SGA" in the upper left window
- you see the project "CLM regional climate model runs" in the upper right window and get a summary by pressing "project information".
- in the lower window you get a list of the experiments, choose the appropriate realization run, scenario run and data stream (..DS2... or ..DS3..)
- get a short "experiment information" or a list of the available data sets via "show datasets"
- in the parameter list, you may read the meta data of the respective parameter by clicking on the name
- if you want even more information on the data set, click on "details"
Download CLM-Data
- go to CERA homepage: http://cera.wdc-climate.de
- login to CERA data base with username and password
- choose the data set you want by following the steps above until you get the list of data sets
- select the data sets by ticking the box next to the parameter name
- press "add data set(s) to process list"
- "download data"
